If you’re trying to be a thrifty traveler and you’re constantly picking your destination, you’re making a mistake. Let the destination pick you. You’re going to save the most money this way. When Dylan and I went to Paris, it wasn’t because we wanted to go to Paris, it was because we found a SUPER cheap place to stay ($50/night) and cheap flights and it ended up being the trip of our lives.

How do you let the destination pick you? Constantly watch flights (I have a Thrifty Traveler Premium subscription that does this for me but you can check Google Flights periodically as well) and when one within your budget comes up to a place that sounds cool, research a little about the stays and if it’s a right fit for you, book it. It’s really that simple and it’ll save you a ton of money.
